Follow a brief history SMA's
evolution and expanding development over the
years and where the future is taking us.
2000-Present
This period marked expansion of our services
and products to focus on IT Service Management and
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions. We
continue to offer consulting in the areas of service
management assessments, service level agreements,
business process reviews and ITIL (Information
Technology Infrastructure Library) consulting and
training. We also achieved awards from our
represented manufacturers. For instance,
we received top honors, five consecutive years in a
row, as the #1 partner of FrontRange Solutions
(manufacturer of HEAT and GoldMine).
1994 to 1999
Our background in information systems,
client/server computing, and local area networks gave us
the foundation we needed to expand our services to
include Internet and intranet technologies, contact
management and sales force automation, help desk
solutions and training. We continue to provide
management services such as strategic technology
planning, project management and organizational
planning. During this period we developed new partnerships
with GoldMine Software (now FrontRange Solutions), Bendata (now FrontRange Solutions),
RightAnswers (now FrontRange Solutions), Control-F1 and others.
1990 to 1993
In 1990, we formally decided to change the corporate name to
"SMA
Management Systems." During this time, we developed
additional partnerships with other leading consulting
firms, hardware manufacturers and software vendors. In
1993, we were accepted into the Lotus Notes Business
Partner Program. The Partner Program fortunately
exposed us to an abundance of benefits to workgroup computing and
information sharing applications.
1987-1989
Corporate focus experienced further expansion
by including network
technologies, with local/wide area networks.
During this timeframe. we
successfully orchestrated many highly visible
projects, including the evaluation of NYC's
30,000 workstation city-wide network. Other highlights
include the development of a 1,100 node local area network for the prestigious
Stuyvesant High School in New York City.
1984-1986
When the firm was formed in 1984 (originally as Systems
Methods Associates) we focused primarily on information
systems developed on and supported by large, centralized
computing departments. This focus was notably essential in the
early 80's, since major corporations were all and only using mainframe systems
as their primary vehicle for managing information. We
developed many project partnerships, most notably with
vendors such as IBM and the consulting divisions of "big
6" accounting firms including KPMG Peat Marwick and
Ernst & Young.
We will continue to provide the services and products we
have been recognized for since 1984. Above all, we will
continue to meet the challenges of this exciting field
and the business needs of our clients.
