HEAT
SELF SERVICE (HSS) JOURNAL FILTERING
When
supporting Users, via HEAT Self Service (HSS),
consideration for privacy is essential. SMA strongly
recommends avoiding the disclosure of passwords and
other sensitive information. HSS 9.5 provides tools to
execute sensitive data management and filtering.
In
previous HSS versions, creating a separate text field
would secure private journal notes. The journal record
was visible to the HSS User, but viewed as "empty." In
HSS 9.5, the updated function now utilizes a checkbox
notifying when the journal record is released.
Ultimately, the User is now blocked from other journals,
just as long as there's an unchecked box.
1.
In edit setting, develop a new field in the journal
table. Next set default to "TRUE."
Provide sufficient space on the form. Commit edit
set. (image just below)

2. Restart HEAT Web Service; proceed to HSS Admin.
Next enable journal filtering
and select newly created field. Restart HEAT. (image
