  • Control Center: manages the asset data as well as creates audit schedules for
    the Administrator.

  • Discovery.Dashboard: also known as the "Web Control Center," is the easy-to
    use view of live asset data from the web interface.  Reports and queries are
    easy to perform, export to Microsoft Excel and print.

The following are add-on tools or services for FrontRange Discovery:

  • Discovery.Portal: significantly aids in identifying and discriminating between what software is licensable, non-licensable, potentially malicious and other titles.

  • Discovery.Visual: allows Microsoft Visio 2003 Professional Edition users to see graphical, dynamic reports with their own live asset data.

  • Security.Advisor: helps equip your organization with the tools to make improvements in IT management as well as to identify the risks inside your network. (The Security.Advisor Summary feature comes standard)

  • License Manager: allows for detailed proof of entitlement documentation, with full audit trail, to be collected and shared between multiple software asset managers.

The Control Center is where the administrator of FrontRange Discovery will label, group and "drag-and-drop" the collected
asset data into organizational units (OU) as well as create audit schedules.  An administrator will also have the ability to enter software licenses and purchase data for valuable regulatory compliance analysis.

Discovery.Dashboard is the easy to use, web-based view
of all the data gathered into the repository and then organized
by the administrator.  Configurable levels of access security
may be set by the administrator to limit what asset data the
logged in user may or may not see.  In many situations this
may be a preferable alternative to allowing users, other than
the administrator, access to the main Control Center.

This type of security allows other members of the organization to access data, such
as key stakeholders, asset management teams or IT support staff, who may have interest in or a need to view this data.  Reports and queries on live asset data from
the web interface are easy to perform, export to Microsoft Excel and print.  Change management planning tools are built-in to quickly allow users to determine the estimated costs of upgrades and locate the specific machines needing the changes.

Security.Advisor automatically compares known software vulnerabilities relating to commercial applications
(e.g. Microsoft) while separately defining 'greynets'
(the unapproved software that poses a potential threat to
your network). 

Security.Advisor is an add-on service for FrontRange Discovery and holds an important role in equipping your organization to better understand both the opportunities to make improvements in IT management as
well as to identify the risks inside your network.

License Manager is a web-based module that pairs the discovered software asset data from FrontRange Discovery
to help organizations track and manage software entitlement.  License Manager guides users through four processes that relate directly to key requirements of the ISO 19770-1 standard. 

No more missing purchase records.  License Manager includes features such as the ability to allow for scanned or electronically captured documentation (such as PDF or other file formats) to be directly attached to
an entitlement record for easy reference.
