eClass Title: Starting Fresh with HEAT 9.5 and Retaining Existing Call Records
Course: #350

eClass Description:
Stuck with an old design in HEAT?  Tired of your forms looking so bland?  Wish you could just upgrade and inherit the easy flowing forms of HEAT 9.5?  SMA can show you how.

This eClass will cover the concepts and details of beginning a new HEAT 9.5 database, then mapping your old HEAT data from previous version into the new HEAT 9.5 call record tables.  Through this process you will review some of the new features of HEAT 9.5 and see samples of best practice form design.

The instructor will use SQL 2005 tools to map data from table to table, field by field, and show how to prepare the new database to begin accepting new call records.

eClass Highlights:

  • HEAT 9 Installation – The instructor will install HEAT 9.5 and show how to switch between the old and new version of HEAT.
  • SQL 2005 Data Load – The instructor will have SQL 2005 Studio open to map data from the old to the new HEAT database.
  • HEAT 9 Prep – The database will be prepped so that new call records will not interfere with existing call records.
eClass Attendee Potentials:
  • HEAT Administrators, Help Desk/Call Center Managers using HEAT Software

eClass Prerequisite:

  • The attendee needs to be familiar with HEAT, general database concepts, and the interface provided by MS SQL 2005 Studio.   Although general database concepts are needed, the instructor will spend time to explain the different tables and properties of the database.
